Sunday, Sept. 1

2:23 p.m.: Animal problem – Report of a dog left in a vehicle. Owner arrived and left before a deputy arrived. N. Third Street, La Conner.

Monday, Sept. 2

7:07 a.m.: You don’t park it there – A deputy on patrol spotted a car in a field that had taken out a large section of barbed wire fencing. There was nobody around and unknown when the accident occurred. The vehicle was towed. Best Road, greater La Conner.

6:56 p.m.: Missing batteries – Caller could not locate two rechargeable batteries for his yard equipment. He believes someone entered his garage during the day and took both batteries and chargers. The garage door had been left open with full access to items inside. No suspect information. Caledonia Street, La Conner.

8:38 p.m.: Hmm – Port of Skagit security called in a suspicious male who was walking the docks and seemed out of place. A deputy found the man talking with security. He got confused on which dock his boat was on and was looking for the public dock entrance. He was directed to his mooring location. N. Third Street, La Conner.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

2:04 p.m.: Possible trespassing – Report of a vehicle parked at the marina that belongs to a female who had been previously trespassed. A deputy checked the car but couldn’t find the female. Another copy of the trespass warning was left on the vehicle. N. Second Street, La Conner.

6 p.m.: Boat accident – A tribal fishing vessel was moving in the channel when the operator stated they lost steering and struck a boat that was docked south of the Rainbow Bridge. The fishing boat operator left the scene and parked amongst other vessels at the fisheries dock. Video evidence was obtained along with driver information for a possible insurance claim. Wednesday, Sept. 4

10:11 a.m.: Bad brakes – An old flatbed farm truck was stopped at an intersection with a vehicle behind. While waiting for the intersection to clear, the farm truck’s brakes failed. It rolled backwards, damaging the second vehicle’s hood and bumper. Insurance was exchanged and a Washington State Patrol commercial vehicle inspector responded. Best and Chilberg roads, greater La Conner.

11:31 a.m.: Check fraud – Suspects obtained copies of checks from a La Conner business, duplicated them and then cashed the checks at a gas station in Mount Vernon for several hundred dollars each. The suspects were kind enough to use their own identity when cashing them and the ID numbers were written on the checks when they were cashed. Both suspects face felony charges. S. First Street, La Conner.

Thursday, Sept. 5

5:31 p.m.: Pole 1, taillight 0 – Subject backed into a power pole and broke out a taillight on his car. Surprisingly, no damage to the pole. S. First Street, La Conner.

Saturday, Sept. 7

11:28 a.m.: Loose dogs returned – Subject located three loose dogs running around the neighborhood. The owner was contacted and the dogs were returned. Caledonia Street, La Conner

7:07 p.m.: Good Samaritan – Caller said a dog jumped out of its parked car and was hanging by its leash. The caller saved the dog with no injuries. The owner returned to the car and was grateful. S. First Street, La Conner.
