Library Corner

In this Thanksgiving week we have so many things to be thankful for here at the library. First and foremost, we are thankful for our many supporters. You are the people who make our amazing library the wonderful place of which we are so proud. Second, we are thankful for our all patrons who come to the library to visit, to study, work, play games and even just to chat with the staff. Personally, I am also very thankful for our amazing staff. You are truly the heart of this library and make it the warm and welcoming place people love to visit.

Christmas is just around the corner and we have lots of events coming up. Please come to the library for our annual Tiny Trees Auction, which will take place on Friday, Dec. 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The trees be illuminating the library starting Nov. 27. This year we have added an art and gift basket silent auction. This will start on Monday, Nov. 27 and will close on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.

Kids: Don't miss a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. They will be at the library for a special story time on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Get into the Christmas Spirit with our favorite ukulele group; they are coming back for an interactive holiday concert on Dec. 4. Bring your ukulele or just come and enjoy the festive holiday fun. To continue the Christmas fun, the Harmonaires, a women's acapella group, will return on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 5-6 p.m. On Saturday Dec. 9, we are hosting a family craft afternoon from 12-2p.m. All ages are welcome to come to the library to make fun holiday crafts.

To round out the season, on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 1-2 p.m. we have a very exciting opportunity to learn about the 13 Moons, the rhythm by which the Coast Salish people live their lives. This is a chance to learn about how to live in harmony with the seasons. Taught by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community environmental health department, it promises to be an informative and insightful workshop.
