Zaira is excited for basketball season at school. She was on the junior varsity team her junior year and is planning on varsity this year. Outside of school Zaira is part of the worship team at the church she attends. She is also busy with babysitting both at home and away.

Karina and Carlos Najera-Davalos are Zaira's proud parents. She has two younger siblings, Carlos Jr ,. who is sixteen, and four-year-old Camila. Zaira attributes much of her success in life to the close family relationships that her parents have established. It is her goal to complete her undergrad degree at Western Washington University, where she will study to become a mental health counselor.

Zaira will receive a gift certificate to Vintage La Conner Thrift, the thrift shop run by local volunteers to support women and girls in the community and enabled by generous donations from the community.
