Are you in a winter reading rut? The library has just the solution for you:

Read five books to get a bingo and get a coupon for a treat at either Stompin' Grounds or Beaver Tales Coffee. Read 25 books to get a blackout and get entered in the Winter Reads Raffle. Last day to turn in your Bingo Card is Monday, April 3 at 6 p.m. Come to the circulation desk to get your bingo sheet.
Ever hear the old saying, "never judge a book by its cover?" In honor of Valentine's Day, come to the library for a blind date with a book. Check out our selection of "dates," all wrapped up in valentine paper and ready to check out. Who knows; if your date is successful you may find a new author or genre. Once you finish your book, tell us how your date went by filling out a Rate Your Date bookmark. Each blind date will fill a square on your winter reads bingo card.
Our Valentine's party is Friday, Feb. 10 2:30-4 p.m. Come make a Valentine for someone special. All ages are welcome.
Come to the library on Feb. 22, 5-6 p.m. to hear local artist Bob Abrams speak about his fascinating life as an artist for Disney and Warner Brothers. This is an event you do not want to miss.
Need help with your technology? Tech nights are back, starting Monday, Feb. 6 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Stop by or call the library to reserve your 30 min time slot.
New library cards are coming soon! Our new library cards are scheduled to arrive sometime during February. Our system requires us to use a new barcode number so everyone will get a new card once they arrive. Please see a library staff member if you have any questions.
There is baby playtime at the library. Bring your baby for some stimulating play time. We now have a wonderful play mat for tots and parents to use anytime. Just ask a staff member.
If you are looking for a good book to fill your bingo squares check out some of these reads:
"The Rose Code" by Kate Quinn. In 1940 England, three very different women answer the call to work at the mysterious Bletchley Park where the best minds in Britain are working to break the German military codes. Fast forward to 1947, the three women are reunited by a mysterious encrypted letter that destroyed their friendship and left one of them in a mental institution. Now they must work together to crack one last code and find the traitor before it is too late. Fills the "set in another country," or the "mystery" bingo square.
"Light on Snow" by Anita Shreve. On an afternoon walk, a daughter and her father find an abandoned infant in the snow; an event which will forever alter the 11-year-old girl's understanding of the world and the adults who inhabit it. Fills the "book with the word snow" in the title bingo square
"Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus. Set in California in 1960, chemist Elizabeth Zott's career takes a detour when she becomes the star of a TV cooking show. The New York Times calls this "an irresistible, satisfying read that is full of fuel." Fills the "audiobook" square of the bingo card.
