BREAKING: Report flood damage for possible disaster-relief aid

December 29, 2022

Residents and merchants are asked to report flood-damages from Tuesday’s flood for possible disaster-relief aid from the state of Washington. Today, Dec. 29, the Town of La Conner posted this urgent emergency alert on its website:

Online self-reporting damage assessment forms are now available for the king tide event. The state will use this data to determine what level of aid may be available. Please take a few moments to self-report any damages so that the state will get an accurate picture of the scope of damages. Both residents and businesses are encouraged to report, as disaster funding may come from different sources. The links are:

English: https://skagitcountywa-self.govplatform.com/en/service/Damage_Assessment_Form

Spanish: https://skagitcountywa-self.govplatform.com/es/service/Damage_Assessment_Form

Considering the damage in Snohomish and Whatcom Counties, we are hopeful that Skagit County will also qualify for Public Disaster Assistance, so please track expenses closely. Document your expenses by retaining receipts and document your damages by taking photographs of the damages you have suffered.

The Town of La Conner is arranging for the placement of waste containers that may be used by residents to dispose of flood-damaged property. Additional information will be made available as it develops.
