By the time Hatfield pushed his way into the bar McCoy was already hard at it, empty beer mugs and shot glasses arrayed in front of him like toy soldiers strategically placed. Hatfield went up to him, but at his touch McCoy turned with more of a smirk than a smile.

“Did you bring Nancy?” he slurred. “Where’s Nancy?”

“It’s no joke, Bud.” Hatfield slid onto his stool and signaled the barkeep for his first round. “This makes us look bad. What are we, a bunch of thugs? All that talk about fair elections and digging up the truth. You don’t do that with a hammer to the head. Jeez, the old guy is what, 82-years old?”

“When you have to smash the state, the tool, the symbol and the message all blend together, don’t you see, Hat?”

“McCoy, I’m not one for metaphor. It was the Reds, the Communists, that made the hammer their symbol on their flag when they took over Russia in 1917.”

“We're not Russians, Hat. We're not radicals, we're Republicans. We're going to make America great again, just like it always was. Remember the rallies, the cheers, the flags, the music? But action is needed after the speeches end. It is like that Black Muslim radical Malcolm X said, ‘By any means necessary.’”

“McCoy, he wanted to overthrow the country. This time our side will reinstate justice.”

“Hat, it is plain as day the election was stolen. There are movies. Guys are traveling the county with slide shows and graphs and numbers showing the 2020 vote was crooked. If the Dems deny those facts, well, taking justice into our own hands when we have nowhere to turn, that is what we are forced to do. A hammer isn't a gun or a noose.

“There are reasons why people are still harping on the 2020 election. If there was no fraud, why won't people let it go? There has to be something there if people continue to question who won. We couldn’t have lost. That can't be. Remember the size of the rallies? Think about everything you read online.

“They're clever Hat. Just consider how deep the deep state is if all the courts rule there was no fraud. How can none of our claims be true? What, our evidence is bunk?”

With that he slid to the floor, having tied himself in knots with his arguments.
