Jenna Rudig, a senior at La Conner High School is the Soroptimist International of La Conner January Honored Student. She has contributed to many causes in the community while working part time, attending Skagit Valley Community College and continuing her education at La Conner High School.
Much of Jenna’s volunteerism the last three years has revolved around the LCHS Varsity Volunteer Club. One of their projects this year is the Collective Impact Project, collecting canned food for the La Conner Food Bank.
Jenna was responsible for updating the La Conner School District readerboard every week her junior year. She has also volunteered for softball concessions, the pumpkin patch at Christianson’s, writing valentine cards for residents at the La Conner Retirement Inn and setting up holiday boardwalk luminaries for Rotary.
Jenna’s high school activities have included soccer, cheerleading and softball.
After graduation, she plans to attend college and study nutrition. As an avid runner and fitness enthusiast, she’s particularly interested in sports nutrition. She hass been accepted to several schools, but is still waiting to hear from a few, so she has not decided which one she will attend.
Jenna is a lifelong La Conner resident. Her parents are Dale Rudig and Season Silk. She has three brothers, Devon, Corbin and Robert.
Jenna has been given a gift certificate to Vintage La Conner Thrift, the thrift and consignment shop run by volunteers to support women and girls in the community and enabled by generous donations from the community.
