Festival of Tiny Trees Trail on Morris and First Nov. 19-21

November 10, 2021

The Festival of Tiny Trees Trail is coming to downtown La Conner Friday, Nov. 19-Sunday, Nov. 21!

A new twist on what has become a much anticipated local kick-off to the holidays is back, presented by the Library Foundation and the Friends of La Conner Regional Library.

Rather than an in-person gathering, this year’s Trail through downtown La Conner will feature almost 30 uniquely decorated tabletop trees available for suggested minimum donations. There will be no bidding on tiny trees as at previous years’ events.

“We wanted to offer this popular event in a way that was safe as well as supportive of our local merchants. Our goal is not only to raise funds for the interiors and furnishings of the new La Conner Swinomish Library, but also to bring people to downtown La Conner and enjoy the start of the holiday season and have fun,” said Susan Macek, Foundation director.

On Morris Street and along First Street, tiny trees will be decked out in a variety of themes, all designed and decorated by a combination of storefront merchants and volunteers. There will be a map showing participating businesses and tree decorators available at those shops, the library, the Chamber and online, along with photos of all of the trees.

The La Conner Chamber of Commerce will also feature this event as part of its A Ladies Night of Shopping Nov. 19.

Trees will be on display the week of Nov. 15 and available by donation with volunteers assisting and answering questions throughout the weekend.

There is no cost to register. Sign up online at laconnerlibraryfoundation.org are encouraged.

“Thank you to merchants who are hosting and decorating trees, our community decorators, Friends of the Library and all of our volunteers who have come together to make this event happen,” said Macek. “Their time, talent and treasure are helping to support the new La Conner Swinomish Library!”
