Faye Martin, who grew up in La Conner, WA, died at age 66 on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Port Angeles, Washington at the Olympic Medical Center. She died peacefully while being treated for Covid-Pneumonia. Though vaccinated, Faye’s immune system was too compromised.
Faye Ellen Martin was born in Seattle, on August 11, 1955. The family moved to La Conner in 1956. She attended La Conner Grade School and La Conner High School, graduating in 1973. She then attended Skagit Valley College and received an associate degree in Library Science. Faye was employed for many years at the Skagit Valley Library in Mount Vernon and then at the University of Washington Suzallo Library on the UW Campus in Seattle. She retired at the age of 55 for medical reasons.
Faye was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon where she sang in the choir. Faye was good natured to a fault and everywhere she lived and worked she was known as a cheerful, happy person and was beloved by all. Faye enjoyed taking care of her rescue dogs, crocheting, baking, classical music, reading, and giving gifts to her family and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Margaret Martin of La Conner. Faye is survived by her brothers John (Denise), Glen (Rita), and sister Karen (Dennis), nephews Jonathan (Tori) and Matthew, and her great-nephew, Boyd
Everett Martin.
