Wednesday, August 4

10:39 a.m .: Another IRS call – Caller reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS and demanding personal information. She did not give out any of her info and reported the call to the sheriff’s office. Valentine Road., Greater La Conner.

12:54 p.m .: Made silk purse – Business found a fake $20 bill mixed in with money in the till, She had no idea who passed the bill but decided to keep it for training purposes. S. 1st St., La Conner.

3:57 p.m .: Asleep at wheel – A male driver fell asleep and crossed the center line crashing into another vehicle causing it to flip over. The driver who fell asleep was tested for intoxication but it was determined he was not intoxicated. The other driver went to the hospital with minor injuries. The male was cited for negligent driving. Fir Island Road, Conway.

Thursday, August 5

12:00 p.m .: Prowled up north – A vehicle parked at the Bayview Interpretive Center for an hour while the owner went for a walk was broken into. The rear window was smashed out, but nothing was taken. Bay View Edison Road., Greater La Conner.


Friday, August 6

8:42 a.m .: Almost caught – A catalytic converter was attempted to be stolen but the homeowner interrupted the theft. Deputies are working to establish the identity of the suspect. Boat launch, Dike Road., Conway.

Sunday, August 8

12:06 p.m .: Black night theft– A Hard Rock mountain bike was stolen from the 600 block of S 1st St in La Conner. It was locked up in a stand and was taken sometime in the hours of darkness. It is men’s large frame black bike. No suspects at this time. S. 1st St., La Conner.
