SARAH MALCOMSON

The Soroptimist Honored Student for January, Sarah Malcomson, has learned how to be flexible and stay positive with virtual classes. Sarah, a senior at La Conner High School, enjoys having school in the comfort of her own home, while improving her time management skills. Sarah is a National Honor Society student who enjoys finding time for volunteering.

English and AP Environmental Science and Geography are Sarah’s favorite classes. In college she wants to continue to explore lots of academic interests, probably some combination of Law and Environmental Studies.

Sarah would like to go to a university where there are many options for classes and clubs. She would like to study abroad in France or Italy during college. She has enjoyed traveling with her family and she would like to be immersed in another culture.

Mrs. Buher, Key Club and friends are how Sarah got inspired to volunteer. She likes to help others and feel that she is doing something that does not just affect herself. Sarah has volunteered at various events: Chowder by the Channel, Santa Breakfast, Ragnar Relay, Rotary Auction and Youth Volleyball Camp. She especially likes helping at the TriParish Food Bank.

Sarah has lived in La Conner since she was two years old. She has an older sister and brother, Grace and Will. Christi Malcomson, Sarah’s proud mom, will have Sarah’s dog, the lovable Bentley, to keep her company when Sarah goes off to college.

Sarah looks forward to continuing her education. She enjoys learning and has a positive attitude no matter the learning situation. Sarah’s enthusiasm and dedication will help her be successful in her pursuits. We wish her well in her future endeavors.

Sarah has been presented a gift certificate to the Vintage La Conner Thrift and Consignment shop, a Soroptimist shop run by volunteers for the benefit of women and students in the community - and made possible by the generous donations of the community.
