A CUT ABOVE – Acclaimed carver Kevin Paul, shown above in mid-September inspecting progress on restoration of the Swinomish totem pole, is among artists to be featured in a book project entitled “The Barn Shows: In Their Own Words.” These are busy times for the Swinomish Senator and La Conner High alum. Paul is scheduled for a two-day recording session next month in Anacortes, where it’s hoped he’ll be joined by family members to sing songs shared through the years by the Skagit Valley Singers group.    – Photo courtesy of Bill Reynolds
