Community Announcement: Glen Johnson speaks Thursday

March 21, 2018

Local farmer and writer Glen Johnson hosts, sponsors and has organized a public meeting at the Civic Garden Club March 22 at 7:30 p.m. He will discuss several different issues pertaining to flood protection, fund raising for expensive projects, slough dredging, along with other issues that concern local residents.

Johnson has been a student of the Salish situation for more than fifty years, from salmon to soils, carbon management to school curricula. A passionate person, he has been homeworking these subjects since long before most community members have lived here. A successful farmer, he built diversity into his operation. He’ll entertain as best as he can, some of the subject matters being what they are.

MoNA folks, Rotary, Kiwanis and History Museum supporters are invited to send representatives. The town planner, administrator, mayor, council and department heads will all find the time well spent. Port, Tribe and County officials will benefit, too. Public works, both the town and county, WDFW and DNR staff are welcome. At the very least, eat the cherry tomatoes that are meant to be thrown at the story teller as he tells a tale of tides, tiny creatures and tinier microbes.

Challenge yourself to tell a short story yourself. If it might help add clarity to a concept, Johnson is open to sharing the stage. Bring your best brain and your best funniest self.
