School’s no longer out for summer. Today, August 30, is the first day of school for students of the La Conner School District. It is also the first school day for Dr. Whitney Meissner, the new superintendent of the district. Same for Todd Torgeson, middle and high school principal.

In fact, it is the first day of school for at least 18 faculty and staff members new to this school district. At least four additional employees are in new positions from last spring.
