Denise Coones, of La Conner, died peacefully at age 88 on Monday, April 24, in the company of her loving daughter Lynette and granddaughter, Sarah.

Denise was born on October 3, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Glenn and Elva Sollenberger Umberhocker.

Denise was predeceased by her son Dan.

She is survived by her daughter Lynette McCormack and her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Sharon Giesen; her step-daughter Deanna (Bill) Morrell; six grandchildren: Melinda (Jeff) Hutcheon, David, Torie and Jonathan Giesen, and Sarah McCormack; two great grandchildren: Skylar and Haley Hutcheon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 at the United Methodist Church in La Conner, with a reception following the service. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday June 17, at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego, California.
