La Conner resident Marie Margaret Polder died on Friday, July 31.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2008, after 40 years of marriage.

The Polders, who lived in La Conner since 1980, were avid sailors and were famous for parading the JMarie up and down the channel to celebrate every chance they got. They loved sharing their sailboat with all, giving many people an experience of a lifetime.

Marie loved her home, neighbors and friends in La Conner. Marie especially loved going to church and her neighborhood bible studies. She will be missed by many.

Marie leaves three children, Diana, Mark and Duane, and many grandchildren.

There will be a life celebration for Marie on Saturday, September 12, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 539 N. Third St., in La Conner.
