2:04 p.m.: Scam – A resident onNorth Third Street in La Conner wanted to report receiving a phone call from that IRS scam that’s been in the news.
2:33 p.m.: Harassment – A La Conner resident did not want any more contact from her granddaughter’s ex-boyfriend. Deputies let the boyfriend know.
Tuesday March 10
1:41 p.m.: Boat issue – A person who is being pursued by the state for a derelict vessel at La Conner Marina claims he gave the boat so someone else, but the title was never transferred.
1:46 p.m.: Oops! – Somebody at La Conner schools didn’t mean to dial 911.
2:09 p.m.: Afternoon refreshment – People who had been socializing in La Conner’sGilkey Square for several hours were intoxicated, but they weren’t seen drinking in public. They were given rides home.
Wednesday March 11
6:34 a.m.: Parking – An anonymous caller reported that a vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the road near the refineries on March’sPoint Road. Deputies had the driver move it.
Thursday March 12
11:10 a.m.: Ginormous ticket – Deputies recognized a person onFirst Street in La Conner with two outstanding arrest warrants, both for driving on a suspended license with bail at $6,000. But the jail was full, so they were booked and released.
Saturday March 14
12:10 a.m.: Not a burglary – Some guy called in saying four juveniles with backpacks and sweatshirts were breaking into La Conner’s Pioneer Market. A deputy got there in less than a minute but there was no burglary going on. A person the deputies know was nearby and hadn’t seen anything. The witness was clearly neither a burglar nor the anonymous caller. When the dispatcher tried to call back the person who reported the burglary, he hung up. This is filed under “unfounded.”
3:10 a.m.: Need a tow? – Somebody was trying to wave down traffic on Highway 20 north of La Conner in the middle of the night. The person was having vehicle trouble and there were no troopers available, so the deputy gave the stranded motorist a ride home.
