3:27 p.m .: Crunch time – Fender bender in the parking lot at La Conner Elementary School. The drivers swapped information.
Tuesday Jan 28
2:39 p.m .: Fraud – A La Conner resident checking her credit history found that someone had fraudulently opened a line of credit in her name and had made charges inFlorida on one of her accounts.
3:31 p.m .: Forgery – A business inConway took in a counterfeit $10 bill. The customer apparently had been carrying it around for sometime and couldn’t shed light on where it originated.
Friday Jan 31
11:33 a.m .: Huffer – A student at La Conner High School was caught “huffing,” inhaling aerosols to get high, which is a real dumb thing to do because kids can die from it.
3:28 p.m .: Speeding – A resident onTillinghast Drive, a cul-de-sac in La Conner, reported that a teen drives through the neighborhood over the speed limit.
10:55 p.m .: Oops! – An employee at La Conner High School set an alarm without telling the co-worker who accidently set it off.
Saturday Feb 1
3:41 p.m .: 911 hang up – Someone dialed 911 from the pay phone at La Conner Marina. Nobody around when deputies arrived.
5:06 p.m .: Lost car – Somebody reported that their locked vehicle was taken from a parking lot near First and Morris streets in La Conner. After the people who lost the car were given a ride home, a deputy located the vehicle, still locked, parked five blocks away. The owner came back to get it.
7:59 p.m .: 911 hang up – Another bogus emergency call from the pay phone near La Conner Marina. Someone reported seeing a child playing near the phone earlier, but deputies couldn’t locate the kid.
Sunday Feb. 2
1:33 p.m .: Accident – A vehicle was struck just off South 4th Street nearPioneerPark in La Conner, but it was gone when the deputy got there.
8 p.m .: Drunk driving – Someone was reported to be sleeping in his vehicle onDodge Valley Road east of La Conner. However, when deputies arrived it turned out the guy was actually driving under the influence.
8:58 p.m .: Sad find – A vehicle hit a dog near Best and Dodge Valley Roads near Rexville and the driver left the dog lying in the road. The animal was dead when deputies got there. They removed the carcass and contacted the dog’s owner.
