Once they cast their ballots in November, all La Conner area government officeholders running for reelection will win. Not a single one is opposed. Two years after two incumbents for La Conner school district board of directors were defeated in the 2019 elections, three directors are running unchallenged. All were appointed to their positions. They now will win election when they vote for themselves in the fall.
District 2 Director Amanda Bourgeois will fill an unexpired two year term, District 3 Director Jeremy Wilbur gains a full four-year term. District 5 Director Susan Gardner Deyo will also win a four-year term,
Likewise, returning to four year terms at La Conner Town Council Positions 2, 3 and 4 respectively are John Leaver, Bill Stokes and MaryLee Chamberlain.
As the town’s government, only Mayor Ramon Hayes has generational ties to La Conner, through his wife Heidi, whose family came to La Conner in the 1980s.
Appointed Fire District 13 Commissioners John Doyle and Jeremy Wilbur continue in office. Doyle fills the Position 2 two year unexpired term; Wilbur
wins a full six year term for Position 3.
Likewise, in Fire District 2, Ken Bergsma continues in the two year unexpired term for Position 2 and Lance Masonholder gains a six year term for Position 3.
For Bayview’s Fire District 12, Norm Jenkins will continue, winning a six year term in Position 3.
Tim Goodman will have a six year full term as Position 1 Commissioner in Cemetery District 1.
Jon Petrich will win his second term as Port of Anacortes Commissioner Position 2, which includes the Marche Pointe and Swinomish peninsulas and north along Padilla Bay.
