Monday Jan 6

11:08 a.m.: Booze bust – Someone was cited for drinking an alcoholic beverage in public onFirst Street.

Tuesday Jan 7

3:30 p.m.: Fraud – A woman wrote a check on a closed bank account at a business in theLimeDockBuilding onNorth First Street in La Conner. The woman had similar incidents throughout the county during the pasty six months.

7:44 p.m.: Gunshot – Someone reported hearing what sounded like gunshots in the area ofRainier Street in La Conner, but there was nothing to substantiate that. However, there was evidence that fireworks had gone off.

Wednesday Jan 8

1:38 p.m.: Shoplifting – Somebody walked out of La Conner Drug Store with a purse that hadn’t been paid for. When they were confronted, they denied they’d taken it, but then returned the purse. The person was cited for theft.

4:03 p.m.: Fraud – Someone speaking in broken English tried to sell a security system to senior citizens onChannel Drive north of La Conner. The potential customer did not take them up on the offer, but suspected it was a fraud attempt and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday Jan 9

5:05 a.m.: Burglary – Somebody broke into the Conway Pub inConway and tried to steal the ATM machine but failed because they set off the alarm.

Saturday Jan 11

4:49 p.m.: Drug problem – A person reported that they saw a man in a parking lot, 900 block of Maple Avenue, and the thought he was at an apartment to conduct a drug transaction. When deputies arrived, the car was there, and nobody was around and nobody answered the door at the residence.

Sunday Jan 12

11:12 a.m.: Suspicious – Blood was found in the public restroom onMorris Street. It turned out that it was from an accident in which a person suffered a cut hand.

11:31 a.m.: Worried relatives – Someone called requesting deputies to check on a family member in La Conner they couldn’t reach. A deputy went to the residence and found the person sleeping and let the family members know.

8:58 a.m.: Oops! – An alarm was accidently activated at Washington Federal Savings Bank in La Conner.
