Tuesday, March 12

4:08 p.m .: Hot dog? No – Report of a dog left in a vehicle parked outside of Maple Hall. A deputy checked and found a window was open and the dog was fine, other than barking a lot. Commercial St., La Conner.

Wednesday, March 13

12:14 p.m .: What rules of the road? – Report of an erratically driven vehicle entering town. The caller told dispatch the car had crossed the bridge. The call was transferred to Swinomish PD. La Conner-Whitney Rd. Greater La Conner.

Thursday, March 14

6:39 p.m .: Is this yours? – Retailer found a wallet and was able to provide the deputy a name on the credit cards and ID. The deputy found the person’s number and told them where the wallet was. The owner picked it up at the store. Morris St., La Conner.

Saturday, March 16

3:54 p.m .: Is this parking? No – Deputy responded to parking problem on northbound Best Road. Several drivers stopped to look at flowers and parked over the fog line. Drivers moved or left when asked. Best / McLean Rds., Greater La Conner.


6:37 p.m .: Is this parking? Still no – Deputy responded to a traffic hazard where several cars blocked Fir Island Road so drivers could take pictures of snow geese. A deputy made an announcement to move and all drivers did. Fir Island, Conway.

7:08 p.m .: Is that hot? Yes! – A caller said her vehicle was smoking. She pulled over and got out before it ignited. When responders arrived, flames were visible. The fire was put out and the vehicle towed away. Best Rd., Greater La Conner.
